CUSTOM SOURCING FROM CHINA
Custom Product Sourcing Agent in China
You do not need to find a matching category before asking for sourcing help. Send a product photo, drawing, link or sample, plus an estimated quantity and destination. I help turn these references into a supplier brief, compare the right factory capabilities and identify what must be confirmed before an order.
WHAT CAN BE SOURCED
Custom products start with the requirement, not a category list.
Product selection begins with the destination market, application and commercial requirements. That makes supplier offers easier to compare and reduces avoidable gaps later.
- Industrial and technical products outside the main product categories
- Home, kitchen, ceramic, electronic and office products
- Toys, sporting goods, baby accessories and pet products
- Luggage, textiles, seasonal products and home décor
- Private-label, packaging and material-based sourcing requests
- Replacement products researched from photos, links, samples or drawings
COMPARE THE COMPLETE OFFER
Compare custom-product factories beyond the unit price
Use the same checklist for every supplier. Keep unresolved assumptions visible before you approve the order.
| Decision | What to agree | Evidence to request |
|---|---|---|
| Product match | Material, dimensions, function, tolerance and acceptable alternatives based on your photo, drawing or sample. | Itemized specification or drawing revision and written explanation of any proposed change. |
| Factory fit | Relevant production process, own versus subcontracted steps, minimum order quantity and required tooling. | Capability examples for the specific process, tooling scope and clear factory response to the brief. |
| Samples and approval | Sample cost, lead time, approval criteria, packaging prototype and the decision point before mass production. | Approved reference sample or written acceptance list, with any testing plan agreed separately. |
| Compliance and labeling | Destination-market standards, required test reports, brand labeling and who is responsible for verification. | Applicable model-specific documents and a list of outstanding compliance questions. |
| Complete landed scope | Price basis, included packaging, tooling, inspection, shipping term and the destination handover point. | Comparable quotations with exclusions, Incoterm and shipment dimensions where available. |
For support with factory research and commercial coordination, see the China sourcing agent service. Review the supplier quotation comparison guide before choosing an offer.

Turn the idea into a brief
I organize the product, material, performance, quantity, market and delivery requirements and identify missing information.
Research and screen suppliers
Potential factories are checked for category fit, capability, communication and willingness to meet the project scope.
Compare samples and offers
Price, specification, tooling, MOQ, lead time, packaging and compliance are compared before selection.
Coordinate order execution
Production questions, quality checks, packing and shipment are followed according to the risk and complexity of the product.
QUALITY & RISK CHECKPOINTS
Important details stay visible before dispatch.
The exact inspection plan depends on product risk, order value, destination and buyer requirements.
- Confirm the approved sample, specification or drawing used for production
- Review supplier capability and product-specific compliance documents
- Clarify acceptable tolerances, workmanship and packaging standards
- Coordinate pre-production samples or pilot orders when practical
- Define inspection points according to the product’s main risks
- Check labeling, quantities, packing and shipping documents before dispatch
COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you request quotations.
Can you source a product from only a photo?
Yes. A clear photo can be the starting point. I will ask about material, dimensions, function, quantity, market and acceptable alternatives before requesting comparable quotations.
What if I do not know the exact specifications?
Send the photos, reference link, intended use, approximate quantity and destination you already know. I will list the missing material, size, function, compliance and packaging questions so factories can quote the same requirement.
Do you only source industrial products?
Industrial and technical products are a core focus, but I also assess consumer, retail, textile, home, kitchen, electronics and other custom requests.
Can you help with a small trial order?
Yes, when a supplier can support the quantity. Trial orders can be useful for checking the product and working process before scaling.
How are custom sourcing fees charged?
The Agent Model uses a transparent service fee based on expected purchasing volume and work scope. The Vendor Model provides a unit price that already includes the sourcing service. The suitable option is confirmed before work starts.
START WITH A CLEAR BRIEF
Start with a photo or product idea
Share a photo, link, drawing or sample description, estimated quantity and destination. I will identify the missing specifications and suggest the next supplier questions before comparing offers.
