Map the warehouse before asking for a price
Share internal length, width, clear height, columns, doors, sprinklers, lighting, docks and any obstructions. A layout based only on floor area can create unusable bays or unsafe clearances.
Include the destination and any local seismic, fire or approval requirements that may affect the design.
Define pallets, loads and handling equipment
Record pallet dimensions, weight, load distribution, SKU count, storage levels and desired pallet positions. Also specify forklift or reach-truck type, turning radius and preferred aisle width.
These inputs determine upright sections, beam sizes, bay spacing and practical storage capacity. They should be fixed before comparing supplier totals.
Compare layouts and included components
Check uprights, beams, bracing, decking, protectors, locking devices, load signs and other accessories. Ask each supplier to provide a drawing, quantity list and rated loads.
Compare the usable storage result and operating flow, not only the number of tons of steel or the lowest unit price.
How to compare pallet racking prices from China
Request prices for the same layout, pallet positions and approved load ratings. A lower price per bay can describe a different bay width, fewer beam levels, lighter loads or fewer accessories. A price per ton does not show whether the warehouse will have the storage capacity and access you need.
Separate the racking components, safety accessories, finish, drawings, inspection, export packing and delivery charges. Confirm whether installation is included and who checks the design against the destination requirements. Add any separately agreed sourcing service fee to the same purchasing budget.
- Compare rated beam and bay loads with the same pallet weight and storage levels.
- Count usable pallet positions using the same aisle and forklift assumptions.
- Include protectors, locking devices, load signs, decking and all quoted accessories.
- Use the same packing, shipment destination and installation responsibilities for each total.

Control quality and export packing
Confirm material sections, welding, punching, coating, color, visible finish and load documentation against the approved offer. For a larger project, agree how samples or inspection evidence will be reviewed.
Require component labels, bundle lists, moisture protection and a packing plan that makes unloading and site sorting straightforward.

Use one request sheet for every shortlisted supplier

Before approving an order, agree which party reviews the layout against local floor, fire, seismic or installation requirements. A supplier quotation alone does not establish site approval.
